Hazardous Chemicals Description
This procedure covers the requirements associated with prevention and control of on-site leaks and spills, of hazardous materials that may harm the environment or personnel. This includes discharges directly to the environment (marine, inland water or land) and discharges to sewerage or stormwater systems. The procedure covers preventative measures such as the bunding of tanks and areas where the potential for leaks and spills exists, measures to be taken to segregate hazardous materials or contaminated water from sewerage and stormwater drains, etc; and rectifying actions to be taken in the event of a spill.
